*****UPDATE! See bottom of article for latest update*****
My top eHow money earning article has made exactly $176 since its publication at eHow in October of 2008. Not bad for less than an hours work.
My second highest earner has generated close to $95.00. Some of my other articles have earnings in the $50 range. With most articles earning a few dollars.
Writer Gig’s, Earn Residual Income from Writing Online ebook was extremely helpful in sharing how to write articles that make $ on eHow. This was key for me as I learned how to pick topics and write quality articles with the search engines in mind. Her book saved me hours of time and set me on the path to earning quickly. As I mentioned in another post, I make several hundred dollars a month at eHow in residual income. Check out her eBook;

eHow is a Great Place for Residual Income
UPDATE: eHow has switched to a different platform and you can no longer write for eHow. I recommend writing for Hubpages Xomba, Bukisa and/or Infobarrel.
I I know several people making thousands each month in passive income from Hubpages. Read my new Hub on the Keyword Academy and sign up for Hubpages.
Hubpages. Writer Gig’s Ebook on “How to Earn Residual Income with eHow” is still highly recommended. The information can be applied to any pay per click content site. Click here for Writer Gig’s Ebook. for passive residual income.
Why settle for a few dollars an article when you can earn hundreds. My top earning article at eHow has made over $600. (Click Here to See Most Recent Update) Many of my other articles have earned hundreds also. This is for articles that are around 500 words and took under an hour to write.
eHow is a site that shares “How to’s”. All material written for eHow should include directions on how to do something and be broken down into steps. Each step should have an action that the reader takes to accomplish the “How To.”
Though eHow is secretive about the exact method of paying writers, it appears to be directly related to the Adsense clicks on the ads around the article. eHow pays once a month with the minimum payout at $10.00. Write a few articles and you can collect on them for years. eHow is a great place for residual income!
I started writing for eHow the last week of August ’08. At the end of September, I made my first payout of $13.00. In October, my earnings climbed to just under $100. By November I was right at $250. For the past few months I have been averaging several hundred dollars of residual income from my 250+ articles. Based on other writers experiences this should continue to grow.
To be successful on eHow it is essential to write with the search engines in mind so you will get alot of views and potentially a lot of clicks. Select topic that are “Hot” using Yahoo Buzz, Google Trends, and eBay Pulse. Some of the more profitable topics on eHow seem to be ones on weight loss, beauty, finances and making money, and computer related issues. Recipes normally do not earn alot. When considering topics, do a search on them, to see if there is an interest. See my post on selecting “Hot Topics”
When I started writing for eHow, I read Writer Gig’s ebook. Writer Gig won eHow’s Award for earning the most money on eHow. At one time she reported eHow earnings of close to $2,000 in a month. She routinely earns over $1,000 a month from eHow (and this is all residual income). Her eBook has helped many increase their earnings substantially, because she teaches you step by step, how to select a topic and how to write the article for maximum exposure and income. It is a time saver and one of the most important tools, I used to increase my eHow income. I cannot emphasize enough how the small investment in Writer Gig’s ebook will save you hours of time and put you on the path to earning $.
You can check out Writer Gigs ebook Here.

Keys to Writing Keywords for eHow
When I started at eHow, I was unclear how to write Keywords. I enlisted the help of an eHow editor and wrote an eHow on “How to Write Keywords for eHow”, with her approval. Here is a more detailed explaination.
Let’s start with what keywords are. Keywords are words that relate to the information you are sharing. It is basically a “shortcut” to describe what you are talking about.
At the bottom of each eHow, writers are asked to add keywords. It is key to writing keywords for eHow to understand that these keywords are used by eHow only. These keywords are to help others search for and find your article on eHow. So the keywords you use for your eHow articles will most logically be the words in the title of your eHow article.
Writing the keywords is very simple. You write each keyword and leave a space. No quote marks, commas etc. For example in my eHow “How to Find Missing Money”, the keywords are written like this:
Right way: Find Missing Money
Wrong way: ”Find Missing Money” FindMissingMoney
Find, Missing, Money
At eHow they suggest you limit yourself to 5 keywords but you can add more if you desire. You also do not have to worry about using lower or upper case letters as it is not case sensitive.
Writing articles keyworded for the Search Engines is different than writing keywords for ehow.
If you are interested in learning how to write for eHow, I highly recommend reading Writer Gig’s ebook. It will save you hours of time and can help set you on the path to making money. Happily I purchased Writer Gig’s book early and now enjoy hundreds of dollars monthly in residual income from content sites I wrote for months ago. Check out Writer Gig’s eBook.
Writer Makes $1,000+ at eHow
Maria O’Brian, aka WriterGig, won eHow’s top writer award. With a bank of several hundred articleas, she consistently earns over a thousand a month from eHow. Maria writes eHow articles that rank high in the Google pages and attract large amount of traffic. I was inspired to join and write for eHow after reading Maria’s posts on a WAHM forum. A short time after I joined, I read Maria’s book and applied the information. My eHow income was close to $100 by my second month. Now I routinely earn several hundred dollars a month and I owe a lot of credit to the information I learned in Maria’s ebook and by writing consistently.
This ebook is very clear and gives step by step directions on exactly what you need to do to maximize your eHow income potential. You will learn how to select topics, how to write each article for the search engines, and more. For the past two months I have been spending most of my time working on my websites and occasionally writing an article or two for eHow. Yet each month, my earnings on eHow have been several hundred dollars. This is the ultimate in passive income.
I highly recommend making the small investment in Maria’s book. If you apply the information, it will pay off month after month. Read more of Maria’s tips on writing for residual income here. Click here to get a copy of Maria’s ebook.
