Affiliate Income, Ad Clicks and More Writing for Squidoo

Squidoo is a social writing site, that allows writers to earn income from multiple sources of income.  You can earn affiliate income, ad clicks and more writing for Squidoo.  At Squidoo, writers create lenses. A lens is a webpage that focuses on a particular topic.  The more quality lenses you create, the more money you can potentially make. The best way to write at Squidoo is to select a niche topic and create lenses about it. For example, if you are interested in skin care, you could write lenses on exfoliating the skin, winter skin care, creams for the skin, caring for acne prone skin etc.  Select a topic broad enough to create a number of lenses. You can also add more topics.

There are a number of ways to earn income with Squidoo.  The first is income from Squidoo itself. You can elect to include on your lens affiliate links to companies such as eBay, Amazon and others that are contracted through Squidoo. These companies will decide what to run on your site and do the work for you  or you can select which products to show. When you use companies contracted via Squidoo, your payout is 50%.

You can also sign up to be an affiliate directly with places like ShareaSale, and LinkShare.  See the Affiliate Marketing section at My Lil Gold Dress (Earn at Home) for more information on Affiliate Marketing and keep the full amount earned through these links. More work but potentally worth it.

Squidoo also places Google Adsenses ads on your lenses. Half of the earned revenue from these ads is distributed amongst lensmasters based on traffic, rank etc.

Another way  you can increase Squidoo income is by referring others. Squidoo pays you $5.00 for every $15.00 a  lens created by someone you referred earns.

Squidoo is the type of site where you can build income, but it will take time.  To increase traffic and generate sales you will want to promote your lenses by joining groups and using Squidoo promotional tools. 

Think about a niche you enjoy and some topics you can write about within the niche. Or go directly to affiliate companies and write articles based on products you believe in.  Keep writing, become recognized in your niche area and promote. This is a great way to generate traffic and sales.

I picked a topic I am passionate about and it will be nice for driving traffic to my website and potentially generating sales on it’s own.

I had looked at Squidoo before but with all the different modules and information it looked like a lot of time would be involved and I was not sure if anyone was making any money with Squidoo. UPDATE:  Both of my lenses were locked a couple days after making them. Apparently Squidoo has new rules regarding affiliate links etc. Many lenses are getting shut down or locked to be reviewed.

I got an email from Squidoo that my lenses had been unlocked. I would recommend using Squidoo to drive traffic to your sites and use the affiliate modules they provide to monetize them. If you opt to use your own affiliate links make sure the ones you are using are allowed by Squidoo (my affiliate links were allowed.)
