You earn from LifeTips in a variety of ways, from ads on your tips site and from sales of your book. After you have written 101 tips, LifeTips sells a made to order book at Amazon. You collect $2.00 for each $9.99 book sold. You can also apply for paid writing assignments.

Not having written for LifeTips I am not sure what type of revenue you can generate but my guess is not a lot for a few reasons. The first is LifeTips shares how you can take over a LifeTips niche someone else had, which indicates there may be rapid turn over.

Secondly LifeTips home page has a google ranking of 2/10, not very high for a supposedly busy site.

And after checking the sales of LifeTips books at Amazon I doubt there is much revenue with the book sales. The no.1 selling Lifetips book is in position #780,323.

It is also bothersome that LifeTips retains ownership of all content created. So you can bust your butt creating tons of tips, realize it is not paying off and you are out time and what you wrote.

The best way to write at Squidoo is to select a niche topic and create lenses about it. For example, if you are interested in skin care, you could write lenses on exfoliating the skin, winter skin care, creams for the skin, caring for acne prone skin etc.  Select a topic broad enough to create a number of lenses. You can also add more topics.

There are a number of ways to earn income with Squidoo.  The first is income from Squidoo itself. You can elect to include on your lens affiliate links to companies such as eBay, Amazon and others that are contracted through Squidoo. These companies will decide what to run on your site and do the work for you  or you can select which products to show. When you use companies contracted via Squidoo, your payout is 50%.

You can also sign up to be an affiliate directly with places like ShareaSale, and LinkShare.  See the Affiliate Marketing section at My Lil Gold Dress (Earn at Home) for more information on Affiliate Marketing and keep the full amount earned through these links. More work but potentally worth it.

Squidoo also places Google Adsenses ads on your lenses. Half of the earned revenue from these ads is distributed amongst lensmasters based on traffic, rank etc.

Another way  you can increase Squidoo income is by referring others. Squidoo pays you $5.00 for every $15.00 a  lens created by someone you referred earns.

Squidoo is the type of site where you can build income, but it will take time.  To increase traffic and generate sales you will want to promote your lenses by joining groups and using Squidoo promotional tools. 

Think about a niche you enjoy and some topics you can write about within the niche. Or go directly to affiliate companies and write articles based on products you believe in.  Keep writing, become recognized in your niche area and promote. This is a great way to generate traffic and sales.

Are you wondering how to log in to eHow? Recently I tried to log in to my ehow account to check earnings only to find they had totaly migrated to a Facebook log in.

I would love to know why so many companies are using Facebook for their log in. Personally, I prefer to keep separate accounts but I did want to be able to check my stats and earnings so I hooked up my facebook profile to my eHow account. Once hooked up I did not find a place to attach my ehow pen name which is different than my real name which I use on Facebook. Nor did I see a place to check earnings. If I missed this, please let me know.

I picked a topic I am passionate about and it will be nice for driving traffic to my website and potentially generating sales on it’s own.

I had looked at Squidoo before but with all the different modules and information it looked like a lot of time would be involved and I was not sure if anyone was making any money with Squidoo. Finding these jobs is easier than you think Craigslist, freelance sites and internet marketing forums are a great place to start. In my case one of my clients read an article I had written for one of my sites and contacted me. I worked up a proposal of ways I could drive traffic to their site. I currently earn a substantial amount each month (4 figures) doing social media for the company. In other cases I have found clients on internet marketing forums and at other sites.

If you want to do social media for a company you should have a good feel for running a social site (be familiar with the TOS), know SEO basics, understand article marketing, be able to locate and post on blogs, have a basic understanding of html to add links to posts and more. You should be able to share with the client methods you can use to drive traffic to their site and how you will provide value to them.

Consider charging at least half of the agreed upon fee upfront. I always charge the full fee in advance.

Topics at About.com vary according to need.  As I write this, About.com is looking for experts on Boston, Mountain Biking, Crochet, Camcorders and more. There are about 40 listings at the site. To see the list click here; current Guide need list.  This list changes often, so keep checking back to find a topic that is right for you.

If you find a topic you are an expert in, the application process is explained in the Be a Guide  section. The blue links on the left explain the FAQ’s, Application process etc to walk you through the steps of becoming a guide. You will need to include your work history, qualifications, writing samples etc.

Once you have applied, your application is reviewed. This process may take several weeks. If selected you then go into “prep”. In the “prep” stage you will compete against up to 5 other candidates for the same topic. You will develop a site on the topic and the best overall candidate will become the About.com guide for that topic.

It’s very competitive to become a guide at About.com but the financial rewards and opportunity to share your experise with others is excellent!
