Help Me Write My Next eBook

helpI’ve been busy working on my next eBook, which is tentatively titled, “From Zero to Full Time Income Writing Online.”  As the title implies, it is going to be a guide on how to take your online writing from the absolute beginning phases to the point where you’re making full time income.  I’m looking at writing it as a cross between my personal story and a guide, so the reader can see exactly what I’ve done over the past years, learn from my mistakes and then also see the ways I recommend doing things.

I’ve got a lot of great content to work with, and a lot of (what I feel are) great ideas on topics to cover, but I’d like to reach out to all the readers of my site to see if there is anything special that should be covered.  Any specific areas where you struggle, any concepts that are confusing, pretty much anything that is keeping you from being as successful as you want to be with your writing.

The goal with this book is to make it as simple as possible for someone who loves writing, but doesn’t know how make money from it to know exactly what to do.  I’m not planning on covering any actual writing recommendations like how to improve grammar or anything like that, since it seems like it would be out of the scope of this book.  I’ll be focusing mostly on the business and marketing sides of being a writer, which is where I believe most freelance writers are struggling (based on what people have told me).

My goal is to have the book written and published by the end of the year.  If you have anything you’d like to see in the book, please either comment below, or shoot me an email at I really appreciate any insight or feedback you can provide!

End of the year?! NO! That’s way too long!!! 🙂

I think it’s an absolutely superb idea. You can be sure that I’ll be doing everything possible to get my hands on that eBook when it comes out.

Alright, so here are a few things I think would be a great addition for those starting out:
    1. How to land private clients and direct deals – big ones. (maybe use some of your subscriber eBook?)
    2. Importance of having your own website clients can hire from.
    3. How to stop writing for $5/100 words on Fiverr, and do real jobs.
    4. How to charge what you’re worth. I.e., cut the $5 per article, and build on $20, $30 and even $50+ per 500 words.
    5. A complete guide to marketing yourself.
    6. More! 🙂

I anticipate the book’s release. Kudos to you, and good luck!

Excellent ideas. Thanks! I’ve got a few of those in my outline already, and I’ll add in the others.

The end of the year is barely a month away, and it is going to be a BUSY month with Christmas, Thanksgiving and all sorts of other stuff. I’ll try to get it done sooner though!

    Hello Michael,

I have been reading your posts regularly since last 2 weeks or so and I must admit you are doing a great job. I am a beginner in the field of freelance content writing with 6 months of experience. But now I want to make an website and reach out to clients. Can you please enlighten me about some ways to get clients and advertise my website.
What are the things necessary to attract the attention of clients?
How do I make my website/Company reach out to the masses?

I will be mighty glad if you reply to this. Take care! God bless u!

    Thank you,

Hopefully that is what this book will cover, in great detail. My goal is to make it as easy as possible for people to follow and become successful.

In the mean time, there is a lot of good information on this site already to help get you started until the book comes out. I’d recommend looking through the links under the ‘where do I start’ section along the right side of the page.

It is good to hear that you are working on a new eBook, I will definitely grab a copy when it comes out.

I think most writers would like to know how to land direct clients who pay top-dollar for articles. I have been sending out pitches to a wide range of website admins but I am having a difficult time landing high profile clients.

If you could cover how to find website owners who need content and contact them directly that would be a huge lifesaver.

I am looking forward to reading the book!

Yeah, finding clients who pay good money is definitely on the list of topics I’ll be covering.

I’ll also add in some tips on how to find website owners who need content as well. I haven’t done as much of that as I should, but I know it can be really powerful.

      Thanks for the suggestions!

Looking forward to the eBook. I agree with the suggestions about having a hosted website; how to market yourself to clients, both online and directly; and how to charge decent rates for your work. In addition, you may want to add suggestions and tips for setting boundaries between writing (which is now a ‘job’) and personal life. I know that was an issue for me when I was starting out.
